Lővér Bath - Lőver Swimming Pool

One of the most popular recreation areas among guests visiting Sopron is the Bath next to Lővér körút, which is made even more attractive by the landscape surrounded by pine forests.

Since 2005, several developments have taken place, most recently 2 outdoor pools and 4 new slides have been built. The open air bath of Lővér Bath was built in 1911, and was originally called Erdei Forrásfürdő (forest spring bath). The water of the pool, made of natural stone at the time, came from the water of the Deákkút spring. The year 1934 was a turning point in the life of the spa. This year, the Lővér outdoor swimming pool was modernized. Based on the plans of Oszkár Füredi from Sopron, a new inn was built with a sun terrace, changing rooms and a cloakroom. In 1977, on the 700th anniversary of the declaration of Sopron as a free royal city, the indoor swimming pool was built with a joint effort of the city and its inhabitants. The original plastic tent roof was later replaced by a wooden slate roof. The indoor swimming pool was named after our Olympic swimming champion (Berlin Olympics), Ferenc Csík, who died a heroic death in 1945 in Sopron as a military doctor. In 2009, two new heated outdoor pools and four new slides were opened to the public in the Lővér Bath area.

In 2019, the old indoor swimming pool was demolished and the construction of the new Lőver Swimming Pool, capable of hosting international competitions and accommodating 1,300 spectators, began. The new indoor pool will feature a 25-meter-wide and 50-meter-long pool for international competitions, as well as a 25-meter-wide and 25-meter-long small pool, a warm-up pool and a training pool. There is also a sauna, a jacuzzi and a fitness room next to the changing rooms.
