Fishing

The fishing waters of Sopron and the Fertő (Neusiedl) area provide a unique natural environment for this type of sport.

Fishing on Lake Neusiedl (Fertő-Hanság National Park)

According to national fishing regulations, fishing can be practiced with 2 rods. In the case of cross-border transport, the fisherman must comply with border regulations, too.

The area permit is valid only for the areas of Lake Neusiedl that can be visited freely - not highly protected - and only together with the governmental fishing ticket. It is not valid for the fishing water of the Fertőrákos stream.
When fishing in the area of the Fertő-Hanság National Park, the angler is obliged to observe the rules for visiting and transporting, and staying in the protected areas.
An area permit can only be requested in person upon presentation of a valid governmental fishing ticket.
