Magic takes center stage on the opening night of the Crescendo Concert Subscription: John Williams' iconic Harry Potter film scores—from the Philosopher's Stone to the Prisoner of Azkaban—create a mystical world of sound inspired by Wagner's leitmotifs. Yet, the magic does not end at the walls of Hogwarts: Antonín Dvořák's Symphony "From the New World", inspired by American landscapes and Native American melodies, conjures a special world that is yet to be discovered. Two works, one shared experience: the magic of music.
